Andy was born in 1953 and grew up in Aspen, where his parents, Dick and Vera, were instrumental in supporting Andy in the ski programs there. In 1974, he was on the World Championship Downhill Team competing in St. Moritiz, Switzerland, and for seven years thereafter was the number one American downhill skier.
In 1976, he was on the 1976 Olympic team in Innsbruck, Austria, where he placed sixth, and that year was also National Downhill Champion. In 1978, he competed at the World Championships in Garmisch, Germany and was on the Olympic Downhill Team in Lake Placid, New York. In 1988, he was presented with the Maxwell House Olympic Spirit Award in recognition for overcoming adversity in the 1976 Olympic Games.Andy has worked with ESPN, NBC and ABC since his retirement from skiing in 1981. He has worked exclusively since 1991 with CBS, not only covering World Cup Skiing, but also the Olympics in Albertville, France in 1992, and Lillehammer, Norway in 1994. He currently has a syndicated show in 75 major ski areas in the US entitled "Ski with Andy Mill" that he hosts, writes and produces. He is also Director of Skiing for Aspen Mountain.
He has served on the Boards of the Aspen Educational Foundation, the US Olympic Educational Ski Foundation for the US Ski Team, Aspen Winterclub Foundation and National Atlantic Salmon Fishing Federation. He also has a professional relationship with Rolex, Men’s Journal, Range Rover, Visa, Evian, Grolsch Beer, Ellesss, Rossignol, Ray Ban sunglasses, Lange ski boots, Marker ski bindings and Matrix hair products.
Andy married tennis great Chris Evert in 1988, and they have two boys.
