Evelyn is historical proof that the world of mountain sports is not exclusively a man's world.

A member of the Colorado Mountain Club and the American Alpine Club, she has climbed all of Colorado's "Fourteeners", as well as many other peaks. A charter member of the Southern Rocky Mountain Ski Association, she served as its executive secretary (1940-51) and treasurer (1950-56). She has been on committees for National Ski Association conventions (Estes Park 1952, Aspen 1956), races (1941 Nationals, 1950 FIS, both at Aspen), and planning for the 1960 Olympics at Squaw Valley. She also wrote for the American Ski Annual and the Eastern Ski Annual, and attended three Winter Olympics.
